Current parking rates and ticket prices are approved by the Board of Trustees and support parking and safety services. The Parking Office provides parking services to students, staff and visitors of Michigan State University. Parking Services is a self-supporting auxiliary that is not funded by state taxes or student tuition. Parking operations, maintenance and development expenses are funded by revenue generated from the sale of parking services. All fees collected from paid violations fund safety systems on campus such as the Emergency Green Light Phones.
Pay-by-plate lots and metered spaces will be complimentary from 8/16/25-8/24/25. Any overnight restrictions still apply; permit and patient areas will continue to be enforced. Special events may impact entry and fees for certain lots.
COMPLIMENTARY SUMMER 2025 PARKING:
- Lots 15, 83, 91 - complimentary from 5/5/25 through 8/24/25
- Lot 89 - complimentary from 5/5/25 through 9/7/25
